Target groups- The local partner organisations CPH, GTIH, ODRINO-UEBH, Oxfam Haiti, Concern Haiti, ITECA.
- Indirectly: the management structures in the different zones, as well as the responsible public services and local councils, and other organisations active on the domain of water provision and management.
ObjectiveTo improve the intervention methods of the partners, of other water actors, and of the local and national policy, by on the one hand, the development of innovative experiences in the field, and on the other hand, by the capitalisation of these experiences and networking.
Main results- Instruments have been developed and are successfully implemented by the partner organisations and other involved actors in the intervention zones: education modules PHAST (sensitization about hygiene en sanitation), manuals for social engineering, support for client-contractorship, development of integrated water resources management plans, application of ecological sanitation and other adapted latrines, …
- Capitalisation documents have been developed with the support of the partner organisations, and have been distributed within the organisations active in the domain of water in Haiti.
- Participation in panel discussions and thematic workgroups has resulted in an active input and impact upon the legal frames managing the drinking water and agricultural sector.
- The innovating approach of PROTOS and its partners is mentioned in national and international forums and in water policy documents in Haiti.
