Target groupsAbout 25 communities which represent 12.500 inhabitants:
- Drinking water for 12.500 people.
- Sanitation for 2.000 people, and, indirectly for the entire community via schools, health centres and awareness raising.
ObjectiveImprovement of the socio-sanitary situation in 25 villages in the districts Saraguro, Rioverde and Muisne through the provision of sustainable access to drinking water and sanitation.
Main results- Drinking water piped systems have been constructed or repaired and guarantee access to drinking water for 12.500 people.
- A model sanitation infrastructure has been placed in 25 schools, training or health centres, and also for 400 families.
- The inhabitants are using the infrastructure correctly and have positively changed their behaviour related to hygiene, sanitation and sustainable water use.
