CREPA Helvetas Target groupThe target group of GLEauBe is the population of 4 communities in the department of Atacora: Pehunco, Kérou, Cobli, Boukoumbé and 1 community in the department of Donga: Djougou. Drinking water infrastructure will be built in about 60 villages with an average population of 250. This brings the amount of immediate beneficiaries to at least 15.000 people. ObjectivesThe ultimate objective is improving the living conditions and food security in 5 villages in Atacora/Donga. The specific objective is a sustainable access to drinking-water, to basic facilities and knowledge with regard to sanitation & hygiene and to water for economic activities. Main results1. The mechanisms and competences for a better management and governance of the water sector will be tested, applied and propagated. 2. The water and sanitation-infrastructure is constructed and is functional. 3. Water is used sustainably for economic activities such as vegetable cultivation. 4. The natural resource on water is followed up and managed sustainably. 5. The management of all infrastructure (drinking water, sanitation and irrigation) is ensured for the future.
