Target groups

9600 inhabitants are supplied by water points in the departments of Atacora and Donga, in the municipalities of Natitingou, Kuenda, Kérou, Péhanco, Copargo and Djougou.

Objectives

To create a local management system for users of household water in accordance with a durable view of Integrated Water Resources Management in the North of Benin.

Main results

• In 6 municipalities in the North of Benin the behaviour of the intended population concerning the household use of water has improved in accordance with the principles of IWRM.
• The local actors from these 6 municipalities are able to play their decentralized role with regard to the optimal use of household water.
• The actors from the 6 municipalities who intervene in the use of household water are involved in the planning in accordance with the principles of Integral Water Management.
• The activities of the project are executed in accordance with the principles of sound management.
